Good parts, slow shipping

I ordered the X-Head DOHC guards for my R1200GS. The product itself feels really solid and the installation was straightforward with the included hardware. They look good on the bike, too. My only real complaint was the shipping; it took about 8 days to reach me in Arizona, which felt a bit long for a domestic order. Customer service was helpful when I inquired about the delay, though.

Decent fender extender

I picked up an Avant RT for my R1200RT. It seemed like a good idea. Got here pretty quick, like 4 days to Georgia. Installation was fine, nothing too tricky. It does what it's supposed to do, keeps some of the road gunk off the engine. Pretty happy with it overall.

Perfect fit, looks great!

Got the Avant GS front fender extender for my bike and it's fantastic! It fit perfectly and really cleaned up the front end. Installation was a breeze, took me maybe 15 minutes. Super happy with this purchase!

Reliable protection, always

This was my third order from MachineartMoto, this time for the X-Head 1250 guards. As usual, the quality was excellent and they fit my R1250GS like a glove. I've had their MudSling before, and they consistently deliver well-made, easy-to-install protection. Shipping was quicker this time, arrived in about 4 days, which was a nice improvement from my first order a couple years back. It's why I keep coming back for my BMW accessories.

Anyone know if MachineartMoto does military discounts? I'm active duty and trying to save a few bucks.

J Jeff H. 3 weeks ago
They do! Saw it mentioned somewhere. You usually have to verify your status.

Pretty sure they have one. Check their FAQ or contact them, I recall seeing it as an option at checkout for verification.

I'm thinking about the MudSling for my R1250GS. Is it actually easy to install like they say, or am I gonna be fighting with it for hours?

M Megan D. 4 weeks ago
Super easy. Took me maybe 15-20 minutes, just a few bolts. The instructions were clear.

Honestly, if you can turn a wrench, you can install it. It's one of the simpler mods you can do.

Just curious, how do MachineartMoto's cylinder guards compare to like, Wunderlich or SW-Motech? Are they worth the price difference?

A Amber K. 1 month ago
I've had both, and the Machineartmoto ones feel more integrated and sturdy. Like they were designed with the bike, not just slapped on. Material quality seems better too.

For me, it's about the aesthetics. Machineartmoto just looks cleaner and more OEM+. Performance-wise, they both protect, but MAM has the edge on looks and fit.

Does MachineartMoto ever do free shipping, or is it always paid? Trying to make an order over $100 but not quite 150.

N Nathan P. 3 weeks ago
They do free shipping on orders over 150 bucks. So if you're close, might be worth adding a small item to hit that.

Only seen free shipping kicks in at $150. Sometimes they might have a promo for it during holidays, but usually, it's that threshold.

What's the return policy like? Bought some stuff from another company once and returning it was a nightmare.

B Brian T. 1 week ago
Returns were super easy for me. Had to send back a fender extender because I ordered the wrong model, no fuss at all.

I returned an X-Head that I decided I didn't need. Just followed the instructions on their site and got my refund quickly. No issues.

Hey, wondering if anyone has experience with the X-Head LC guards and if they fit okay with aftermarket crash bars, like Touratech ones?

L Lisa Flores 1 day ago
Yeah, I have the X-Heads on my R1200GS LC with SW-Motech bars, fits fine. Machineartmoto usually designs them to clear most popular crash bars.

Mine fit perfectly with the AltRider bars on my 1250. They mention it on their site that they're designed for compatibility.

Are the bundle deals usually better than trying to wait for a site-wide sale? Looking at a fender extender and cylinder guards.

E Elizabeth 1 week ago
Bundles are pretty consistent for a small discount, usually 10-15% off. The big holiday sales like Black Friday might hit that or a bit more, but bundles are always there.

G Grace Carter 1 week ago
Yeah, I think bundles are a good bet if you need multiple things now. The big sales happen but you gotta catch them.

Thinking about getting some stuff for my R1250GS. How long does shipping usually take to California?

W William Robinson 3 weeks ago
I'm in SoCal, usually get my orders in about 4-5 business days. Pretty quick for motorcycle parts.

E Elizabeth T. 3 weeks ago
For me on the west coast, it's typically less than a week. Ordered a MudSling last month and it was here in 5 days.
